The Super Eagles have officially announced its squad for the upcoming 2026 Unity Cup and June international friendlies, with head coach Eric Chelle merging experienced stars with emerging talents ahead of a busy international window.
Following the inclusion of several new faces and standout performers from Europe and the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), there’s been excitement and major reactions from Nigerian football fans.
Among the headline names included are Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and Calvin Bassey, all expected to play key roles as Nigeria continues preparations for future international competitions.
Coach Chelle also handed maiden invitations to a number of players, including goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, defender Emmanuel Fernandez, midfielder Raphael Onyedika, and forward Rafiu Durosinmi. Their inclusion signals the manager’s intention to expand the team’s depth while rewarding impressive club performances.
The Unity Cup tournament, set to take place in London, will see Nigeria face in the semi-final at The Valley Stadium on May 26. The winner will advance to the final to face either Jamaica or India.
Following the Unity Cup, the Super Eagles are scheduled to play high-profile international friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
