Starting April 30th, subscribers to Paramount Media Networks‘s Showtime streaming app, which was launched in 2015, will no longer be able to access its streaming service.
If you use Showtime or enjoy its content, all hope is not lost. To access Showtime services, opt into the Paramount+ With Showtime subscription plan.
According to Showtime’s Help Center Page: “Now that subscribers can access their favourite Showtime programs on Paramount+ by subscribing to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan, the Showtime streaming service will shut down on April 30, 2024…Current Showtime streaming subscribers will continue to have access to the Showtime streaming service until it is shut down on April 30, 2024.”
The Showtime cable channel is still available but has Paramount+ With Showtime since January. The Showtime streaming app has been in existence for almost 9 years. The Paramount+ With Showtime ad-free streaming package was launched in June 2023, alongside a price hike from $9.99 to $11.99 per month.
The move with Paramount’s Showtime is not the first; Warner Bros. Discovery had a similar experience. When Max was launched, it merged with HBO to become HBO Max and killed off services like HBO Now and HBO Go; it was later rebranded as Max in 2023.

The Nigerian Federal High Court has postponed the judgement of internet personality Bobrisky due to the Sallah holiday
Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was brought to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice Abimbola Awogboro on six counts, including naira abuse and money laundering.
Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four charges of Naira abuse, which were filed against him by the EFCC on April 5, 2024, as the court had earlier struck out the last two counts. His sentencing was postponed until today, April 9, 2024.
Today being the celebration of Sallah, celebrated by Muslims, the Federal Government has declared Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as public holidays, making it impossible to pass the judgement. A new date is expected to be communicated by the court.
Bolaji Temitope, an Assistant Superintendent of the EFCC, gave the evidence and narrated the circumstances surrounding the prosecution of Bobrisky.
The convict committed the offence at Circle Mall, Jakande, Lekki, Lagos State, on March 24th. The EFCC claimed Bobnrisky tampered with the sum of ₦400,000 while dancing during a social event by spraying. EFCC claimed Bobrisky had been spraying money at various events between 2022 and 2023, with money ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦50,000.
The Nigerian Federal High Court in Abuja has finally passed its judgement on the case between the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, and Halima Abubakar.
Halima Abubakar was accused of publishing derogatory remarks against Apostle Suleman by accusing him of being a womaniser.
A blogger also claimed the cleric had affairs with different Nollywood stars like Georgina Onuoha, Queen Nwokoye, Shan George, and Vivian Metchie.
The blog post named Lilian Bach, Iyabo Ojo, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Johnson, Chinyere Winifred, Larriet Omo Brish, Ini Edo, Joy Ogbunu, Angela Okorie, and Mary Uranta as part of Suleman’s alleged sexual victims.
The judgement was passed by Justice Enobie Obanor, who said these claims were false and malicious, demanding she publish a retraction of her statements on her Instagram, blogs, and newspapers.
The judge also ordered Halima Abubakar to pay a fine of 10 million naira and an additional 20 million naira to the Apostle’s legal counsel.
