- Synopsis
Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will return to voice Moana and Maui. The sequel features music from Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina.
Moana 2 was originally announced as a Disney+ series but was reviewed as a full-length movie directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller.
Moana 2 is part of Disney's hope to bring back the Disney movie legacy, as the company has suffered multiple financial losses from its past projects. In 2026, the live-action Moana film starring Dwayne Johnson is expected to be released.
The first movie grossed nearly $700 million at the global box office. The 2016 original movie was also the most-streamed movie across all of Disney's platforms in 2023.
Bill Skarsgård will be back to play his role as Pennywise in the upcoming 'It' prequel series 'Welcome to Derry', a Max series.
The actor will take on his role as the horrific clown as he did in the 2017 films It and It: Chapter Two, Skarsgård is also named as an executive producer on the upcoming show. The series will explore Pennywise's origin story.
He will reunite with the director of It and It Chapter Two, Andy Muschietti, and Barbara Muschietti, producer, to bring this show to life.
In March last year, Skarsgård announced he was "not involved" with the upcoming prequel, but made a U-turn earlier this year.
Skarsgård will also join cast members Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and James Remar in Stephen King's "It" book adaptation. His last Stephen King adaptation was Castle Rock (2018–2019). Warner Bros. Television is expected to take over the production.
Max originally ordered Welcome to Derry to series in February 2023. Of the new series, the Muschiettis said in a statement, “As teenagers, we took turns reading chapters of Stephen King’s It until the thick paperback fell to pieces. It is an epic story that contains multitudes, far beyond what we could explore in our It movies. We can’t wait to share the depths of Steve’s novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity and horror.” [Consequence Film].
Bill Skarsgård will headline the upcoming remake of Nosferatu as the creepy Count Orlok and will star alongside FKA Twigs in the new adaptation of The Crow.
The title "Welcome to Derry" is rumoured to be subject to change, and Andy Muschietti is expected to direct four out of nine episodes of the show. Welcome to Derry was scheduled to be released this Halloween, but HBO and Max chairman/CEO Casey Bloys has suggested 2025 is now more likely.
Since the release of OpenAI's latest artificial intelligence model, Chat GPT-4o, fans of American actress Scarlett Johansson have noticed a foul play on OpenAI's part. Fans have observed that the voice of Sky in the Chat GPT-4o voice mode feature is similar to the voice of Scarlett Johansson.
CHAT GPT-4o HELPS PREPARE YOU FOR INTERVIEWS IN REAL-TIME
Prompter:
"In a few minutes, I'm going to be interviewing at OpenAI. Have you heard of them?"
GPT-4o:
"Openai? Sounds vaguely familiar. Kidding, of course. That's incredible, Rocky. What interview?"
OpenAI has announced it will remove the voice of Sky amid controversy over the voice similarity with Scarlett Johansson and also its flirtiness, which is similar to her 2013 film, Her.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT's voice was "carefully selected through an extensive process spanning five months involving professional voice actors, talent agencies, casting directors, and industry advisors."
“When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered, and in disbelief that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine that my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference,” Johansson said.
In her statement:
“Last September, I received an offer from Sam Altman, who wanted to hire me to voice the current ChatGPT 4.0 system. He told me that he felt that by my voicing the system, I could bridge the gap between tech companies and creatives and help consumers to feel comfortable with the seismic shift concerning humans and Al. He said he felt that my voice would be comforting to people.
After much consideration and for personal reasons, declined the offer.
Nine months later, my friends, family and the general public all noted how much the newest system named ‘Sky’ sounded like me.
When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered and in disbelief that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine that my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference. Mr. Altman even insinuated that the similarity was intentional, tweeting a single word ‘her’ — a reference to the film in which I voiced a chat system, Samantha, who forms an intimate relationship with a human.
Two days before the ChatGPT 4.0 demo was released, Mr. Altman contacted my agent, asking me to reconsider. Before we could connect, the system was out there.
As a result of their actions, I was forced to hire legal counsel, who wrote two letters to Mr. Altman and OpenAl, setting out what they had done and asking them to detail the exact process by which they created the ‘Sky’ voice. Consequently, OpenAl reluctantly agreed to take down the ‘Sky’ voice.
In a time when we are all grappling with deepfakes and the protection of our own likeness, our own work, our own identities, I believe these are questions that deserve absolute clarity. I look forward to resolution in the form of transparency and the passage of appropriate legislation to help ensure that individual rights are protected.”
In November, Scarlett took similar legal action against an artificial intelligence (AI) app, Lisa AI, for using her likeness without her permission in an advertisement.
The European Union (EU) Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Non-Food Products (RAPEX) recently recalled Caro White Skin Lightening Beauty Lotion, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has issued a public notification.
Caro White was recalled because it did not comply with the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation, which mandates a maximum of 1% kojic acid, as concluded by the EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS).
Kojic acid plays a significant role in skin-lightening beauty lotions because it inhibits melanin production, the pigment that gives skin its colour.
The high concentration of Kojic Acid raises concerns about its potential endocrine-disrupting properties.
NAFDAC advises importers, distributors, retailers, and consumers to be cautious and vigilant regarding the product. Although the product is not listed in its database, NAFDAC advises careful authentication of the product and an assessment of its physical condition.
The public is advised to report any inexperience through the use of the product to the nearest NAFDAC office or send an email via pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng.

In today's digital world, the way we consume entertainment has Improved significantly. Gone are the days when cable TV reigned supreme as the primary source of television content. With the rise of digital streaming services, we as viewers now have more options than ever before. But with this abundance of choices comes the inevitable question:
Which one is truly worth my hard-earned money? Let's look into the comparison between digital streaming services and cable TV to help make an informed decision.
Cost Comparison
Monthly Subscription Fees: When it comes to cost, digital streaming services often appear to be the more affordable option at first glance. With subscription plans typically ranging from 3,000 Naira to 15,000 per month on platforms like Netflix, they seem like a bargain compared to the hefty monthly bills associated with cable TV. However, it's essential to consider additional costs and hidden fees that may accrue over time.
Content Variety
Selection of TV Shows and Movies: One of the most significant advantages of digital streaming services is the vast array of content they offer. From blockbuster movies to binge-worthy TV shows, there's something for everyone's taste and preferences. Moreover, streaming platforms often provide exclusive access to original content that can't be found elsewhere.
Convenience and Accessibility
Availability on Multiple Devices: Gone are the days of being tethered to your living room couch to watch your favorite shows. Digital streaming services allow you to access content on a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs. Whether you're at home or on the go, you can enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows with ease.
Quality of Viewing Experience
Streaming Quality and Resolution: One of the key factors that set digital streaming services apart from cable TV is the quality of the viewing experience. With high-definition and even 4K resolution options available, streaming platforms deliver crystal-clear images and immersive audio that rival traditional television broadcasts.
Ease of Navigation: Navigating through the vast library of content offered by digital streaming services is a breeze thanks to user-friendly interfaces. Intuitive menus, personalized recommendations, and search functionalities make it easy to discover new content tailored to your interests.
Exclusive Features
DVR Capabilities: While cable TV has long offered DVR (Digital Video Recorder) functionality, many streaming services now provide similar features. Users can record their favorite shows and movies to watch later, giving them greater flexibility and control over their viewing experience.
Reliability and Technical Issues
Buffering and Streaming Problems: One of the downsides of digital streaming services is the occasional occurrence of buffering and streaming issues. Factors such as internet speed and network congestion can impact the quality of the streaming experience, leading to interruptions and frustration for viewers.

Customer Service and Support
Response Time to Inquiries: When it comes to customer service, cable TV providers have historically received their fair share of criticism for long wait times and poor responsiveness. In contrast, many digital streaming services offer prompt and efficient support through online chat, email, or phone, ensuring that users' issues are addressed promptly.
Flexibility of Packages
Customization Options: Unlike traditional cable TV packages, which often come with fixed channel lineups and pricing tiers, digital streaming services offer greater flexibility and customization. Users can choose from a variety of subscription plans tailored to their specific viewing preferences and budgetary constraints.
Market Trends and Future Outlook
Growth of Streaming Services: The exponential growth of digital streaming services in recent years is a testament to their increasing popularity among consumers. With more and more viewers opting to cut the cord and embrace streaming, the future of television seems firmly rooted in the digital realm.
Environmental Impact
Energy Consumption Comparison: In addition to the economic considerations, it's essential to examine the environmental impact of both digital streaming services and cable TV. Studies have shown that streaming content online consumes significantly less energy than traditional broadcast methods, making it a more environmentally friendly option.
Social and Cultural Impact
Influence on Viewing Habits: The rise of digital streaming services has not only changed how we watch television but also how we engage with media as a whole. With the ability to binge-watch entire seasons in one sitting and share our favorite shows with friends and family online, streaming platforms have become integral to our social and cultural lives.
Personal Preferences and Lifestyle
Suitability for Different Demographics: Ultimately, the decision between digital streaming services and cable TV boils down to personal preferences and lifestyle choices. While some may prefer the convenience and flexibility of streaming, others may value the reliability and familiarity of traditional television broadcasts.
The debate between digital streaming services and cable TV is far from black and white. Both options have their pros and cons, and the right choice ultimately depends on individual needs and preferences. Whether you prioritize cost-effectiveness, content variety, or viewing experience, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. However, with careful consideration and research, you can find the option that best suits your lifestyle and budget.
